Coming soon in CAB
CAB has had a busy few months planning and executing events for the students. Plant night allowed students to pick out a plant for their room and design the pot the way they desired. The students loved the opportunity to change their room and adding some life to it. Bowling was the next event that was hit. People enjoyed chicken nuggets, bowling, and henna tattoos, all right on campus. This was a cool event that allowed students to compete against their friends.
Family Weekend was a weekend full of fun and brought many families to campus. Bingo was a huge hit as usual, followed by a showing of Despicable Me 3. The fall festival was great and the weather was very warm. Many people came for the ice cream truck, caramel apples, picture tiles, and pumpkin and face painting. The sun shone brightly and families gathered together. The night concluded with AC Idol taking place in the Tsotsis Auditorium. This was the first performance held in there and it was incredible. All of the contestants sounded amazing and the winner was crowned to be Cole Foster.
The first travel event of the semester was a travel trip to Six Flags for Fright Fest. Tickets sold out fast and students had fun riding the rollercoasters and experiencing the scare of the park. CAB also participated in Fresh Check Day, a day to raise awareness for suicide, especially in college students. CAB provided the food, apple cider donuts and wings, and they were a huge hit. The food ran out fast. This was a great event put on by PAWS that was very meaningful too. CAB has also been handing out free donuts and cider in Charlie’s every other Wednesday to students who follow @ac_cab on any social media site. Students love the opportunity to get free food and refreshments. Paint Night sparked the interest of many students, who came and painted a fall scenery, guided by a professional instructor. The paintings looked great.
CAB has been busy the past two months preparing all of these events for students. But the fun does not stop there. CAB is planning a Spooky Bingo event for October 28 at 9pm. Come play Halloween Bingo, wear a costume in order to be entered to win a prize for best costume, enjoy pizza and Halloween desserts, and win cool prizes. Also, look out for more free food and beverages because hot chocolate with CAB will start up soon! Every other Wednesday hot chocolate and cookies will be given out to students in Charlie’s, so look out for us. If you want a chance to get off campus, be on the lookout for an event that will be happening off campus in November. More details will come out soon, but make sure to find us and sign up for the next trip. Lastly, Hounds’ Holiday is coming up soon. This event is on December 2 and more details that will be coming soon. You will not want to miss this event, the last one before finals.
Make sure to follow us on social media to learn more about our events, @ac_cab and win more prizes. And as always, you can always join CAB; we meet every Wednesday at 6:30pm in the SARR (basement of Hagan).
