Beauty highlight: Skincare

Though it may seem uncharacteristic of my usual interests, I’ve been pretty obsessed with skincare and beauty products lately. I must admit this is not the first time I have experienced this infatuation. It was quite a subject of significance from 2007 until about 2013 when I was still reading the notorious teenage beauty magazines I received by subscription in the mail every month. Perhaps reading the giant pile of unopened post-2013 “Teen Vogue” magazines I found in my basement reminded me of the relatively trivial subject that dominated my adolescence. Recent Google searches like “What is the underground pimple on my chin?” have led me down a rabbit hole of beauty and skincare articles. My compulsive habit of link and tab surfing has caused many long nights of an unbelievable number of open-tab reading until my internet browser crashes and I am finally released from the chains of command-clicking every related link on the World Wide Web. Needless to say, I’ve done much reading on the subject. If you want to know the best moisturizer for your skin type, I got you. What about the difference between blackheads, whiteheads and cystic acne? How to prevent and treat ingrown hairs? Clean your pores to the point of invisibility? That being said, here is a list of the top 10 skincare products I have discovered and now use on a regular basis:

1. Glossier Priming Moisturizer

2. Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen Plus (lightweight with a citrus scent, 10/10 would recommend)

3. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

4. Glossier Solution

5. Mario Badescu Facial Spray

6. Adapalene Gel (I have a prescription but its also available over-the-counter by the name-brand “Differin”)

7. Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment

8. Pixi Glow Tonic

9. Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment

10. Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser
