It has been reported that the Barbadian pop and R&B singer, Rihanna, is suing her father Ronald Fenty, for falsely advertising her name without her consent. The suit allegedly states that in 2017, Ronald teamed up with another man, named Moses Perkins, to create the company “Fenty Entertainment.”

According to Rolling Stone magazine, Fenty Entertainment tried to book numerous concerts without her authorization. “These included a 15-tour show in Latin America that would’ve been worth $15 million, as well as 15-minute sets at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas totaling $400,000.” This left the question open as to what Ronald was going to do when the time actually came for the shows

It may seem a bit awkward to sue your own father, but Rhianna gave Ronald Fenty a fair warning before actually doing so. It has been reported that the singer sent multiple letters her to father regarding the issue but she claims that he ignored them all. According to TMZ, “Rihanna has reportedly asked a judge to place an injunction on her father’s use of the “Fenty” name, while she’s also seeking damages.” Ronald Fenty even went as far as trying to profit off of Rihanna’s famously known makeup line, Fenty Beauty.

Along with falsely starting Fenty Entertainment, Ronald tried to trademark his own “Fenty,” because he planned to use it for a chain of boutique hotels which the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office both denied upon his request.

According to NBC News, the two men are accused of attempting to trade on Rihanna’s “hard-earned success.” Despite everything that has happened, there has not been any comment made by Ronald Fenty or Moses Perkins.
