Adventures in Malden, Massachusetts

After I finished packing my roomie's clothes and double checking that she had all the necessities for her Spring Break trip to Arizona with the softball team, it was time for me to focus on my own Spring Break trip.

Well, actually it turns out there was not much of a "trip" to be had. I didn't start packing my bag until 1:45 on Friday; my ride was leaving at 2:00. I decided there was no need to pack ahead of time to go where I was headed.

Friday night when I arrived home in the wonderful ghetto of Malden, MA, I commenced napping. I know you are thinking that this girl must be resting up for her long plane flight the following night, right? Wrong.

After napping, I was awakened by a phone call during which I was informed that I would be attending the hockey game at Northeastern versus Merrimack. The game wasn't bad and the company was great, so maybe my Spring Break wasn't looking too bad.

Saturday, I woke up rather early to attempt to get Red Sox tickets for the new seats on top of the Green Monster. I'm not going to lie, there was no chance of my getting any. People had apparently been camping out since Friday morning; clearly, I missed the memo.

Saturday afternoon I returned to the Northeastern hockey rink to watch a friend from high school play in her last game. Thus, I came upon Saturday night. At this point I was really wishing I was getting a sunburn as opposed to trying to thaw out from the hours I spent at the hockey rink. And yes, I did go to the mall on a Saturday night with my mother.

Sunday, I did the church thing and basically napped for over five hours. After arising from my slumber, the only thing I could think to do was rent two movies. So Sunday night, and all day Monday, consisted of napping and watching the rented movies. On Monday night, when I spoke to a fellow "home bound Spring-Breaker," I learned I was not the only one spending my time watching rented movies.

Now as action-packed as this Spring Break might seem, just imagine it without AIM. Yes, my computer was broken. Just to give you a hint of how AIM deprived I was on break, while talking on the phone to someone who has AIM, I asked what people's away messages were.
