Next season the football team will greatly miss the devotion of Senior defensive end Uteenway Mulbah who played in all 11 games for the Hounds.
"He was someone who always practiced hard, who made many sacrifices to be a part of our program, and who was excited about what he was doing," said Head Football Coach Cory Bailey. "He truly loved what he was doing and is the kind of person that you want on your team."
The Women's Soccer team will greatly miss Senior midfielder Jen Genovevo next season. Coach Neil Stafford said Genovevo showed great commitment to the team on and off the field to the team. The Women's Soccer team had a highly successful season finishing with 11 wins, six losses, and one tie.
Both the Men's and Women's Basketball teams will greatly miss seniors who played key roles during this past season. The Lady Hounds will be without Senior guard Margaret Liljedahl who led the Northeast-10 Conference in assist to turnover ratio as well as contributed to the Hounds offense.
"Margaret was by far our best defensive player," said Coach Kerry Phayre. "She always defended the best guard on the other team and in almost every case held that opponent to a season low offensive performance. Margaret had great work ethic and led by example each day at practice. She is the ultimate team player and did whatever was asked of her for the success of the team."
The Men's Basketball team will be without Defensive Player of the Year Senior Captain, guard Shahar Golan next year. Golan led he Hounds in steals, averaging 2.4 per game and in assists with five per game.
"Shahar was always willing to do anything required of him to help his team, said Coach Tom Ackerman. "He was the hardest worker and while never putting up big numbers. He was one of the most respected players in the Northeast-10."
The Men's Lacrosse and Football team will also be without an important senior next year, Bryon Garcia. Garcia played both football as an offensive tackle and lacrosse as a defenseman.
"Bryon is a hard worker that goes out and does his job, no questions asked," said Coach Chris Widelo. "Byron is one of the best players a coach can ask for, a total team player with an unmatched work ethic."
Mulbah, Genovevo, Liljedahl, Golan and Garcia are just five of the many hard-working seniors whose leadership and sportsmanship will have them greatly missed by their teams next season and in years to come. As these players move on in their lives, the younger team members must step up and fill the key roles they held for success in the future.
