This year's "A Night on the Boulevard" themed Holiday Ball was a night to remember for Assumption's soon-to-be graduating seniors, eager juniors, and their invited guests. On the evening of Friday, December 3rd, Assumption students gathered outside of the Hagan Campus Center to board school shuttle buses to the Worcester Centrum, the site of this year's ball. The first shuttle bus left at 5:00 p.m. to bring those few who were ready at that early hour. But those running a little late needed not worry - shuttles ran through 6:45 p.m., and the Ball itself lasted until midnight.

Tickets for the annual Holiday Ball were available in early November for purchase by juniors and seniors only, although each student was allowed to buy a ticket for one guest as well. Sold at $35 each, tickets bought students admission into the Centrum for the ball, as well as a three-course dinner.

Glammed up Assumption girls, guys, and guests were ushered into a spacious window-paneled room upon their arrival at the Centrum for a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres hour beginning at 6:00 p.m. Students snacked on veggies and dip, crackers and cheese, and enjoyed beverages before entering the large function room where they would be served dinner at 7:00 p.m. and begin dancing soon thereafter.

After entering the Ballroom but before the meal was served, CAB Formal Events Chairperson Junior Stacey MacDonald welcomed her fellow students and introduced Campus Minister and Director of Retreats Stephanie McCaffrey, who offered a blessing before the meal.

Dinner at the Ball consisted of a salad, a choice of beef or chicken with vegetables, followed by a platter of brownies and pastries on each table for dessert. Students specified their seating arrangement preferences when they bought their tickets, so friends could sit together and enjoy their meal before the rest of the festivities began.

According to students who attended the Ball, the ballroom and the tables themselves were beautifully adorned. In the center of each table was a red candle displayed in a gold-lined glass goblet.

Assistant Chairperson of CAB, Senior Meghan Dowling, was pleased with MacDonald and her formal events subcommittee's work in the organization and decoration of the Ball.

"I think the ball was a very successful event," said Dowling. "Stacey and her subcommittee did a wonderful job planning for it."
