Special to Le Provocateur
As young adults, ranging from 17- 23, we have come into contact with people that may be going through some difficult stages in their life. If you have not yet experienced a trial or tribulation that demands your attention and plays on your emotions, then perhaps these acquaintances of yours should become your closest friends. Life has a funny way of shaping us into the "proper mold". There comes a time in everyone's life when they must look deep within themselves and make a life altering decision. This decision can either keep you on your continued road or drastically demand a change of you! Generally, the road we, are advised to, take is one of success- the good life.
The three things that usually bring people to this decision making point are frustration, an understanding of life (& the way it works), or motivation from an outside source. Some people step back and realize that things may not be the brightest in their life. Money could be a problem, school may not be going well, they may be out of work, etc. Regardless of the situation, that frustration and sense of unsatisfactory may drive them to achieve more out of their life and of themselves. Some realize that their life is about to change and instead of being unprepared when it happens, they organize a plan for the future. For instance, a student graduating from high school may not have the grades to attend a college or university, so instead they make a list of their talents and likes. If they are good with vehicles, they might aim to be a mechanic; if they are good communicating with people for a benefit, sales may be there calling. Each individual is gifted in a different area, it is the recognition of that talent that must be exploited and unleashed. Lastly, many look upon others for motivation. I knew a young lady that was not interested in school but knew she had good business skills. Her family was very poor so she needed to find a quick and cheap way to certify and make use of that skill. She went to a local community college and got her associates in a little less than two years. After that she joined on with an advertising firm and is still with them today. She never received her BA and is making over 70 grand. It just goes to show you that with a little desire, anything is possible.
