I can still remember the first day I moved into Assumption College. It was probably very typical of most other students' experiences. There was a wide mix of emotions. I was excited to move past high school but nervous to be away from home with none of my friends or family to help me. The first roommate I met was interesting to say the least. He was a white kid, who had flaming red hair with corn rolls, and talked gangster claiming he was from the south. I never thought that New Jersey was a southern state but my roommate Jeff claimed it was. He also started the saying, "Study light, study right. Study long, study wrong." I guess that's why he didn't make it past freshmen year of college.

The other roommate I met soon after. Everyone knows Justin Killion now for being sarcastic as hell but when we first moved in he was putting up pictures of Mark Wahlberg in Calvin Klein underwear admiring his muscles. Justin's a great guy but when you first meet a person who does that, you get a little timid to sleep 5 feet away from him. Even my dad gave me a look as if to sarcastically say, "Good luck, you'll need it."

Living in Salisbury dorm was bittersweet to say the least. It was a great way to meet people since it was as if each pod was one apartment for everyone. There were no locked doors, just all of us chilling together. The down side was sharing a bathroom with 12 guys is not something I would want to repeat. You wake up one morning to find that someone broke the mirrors or my personal favorite, stealing the shower curtains so everyone can know your business. Freshmen year went by in a flash. I guess having a 7-week winter break and a 3 _ month summer break can really shorten a school year.

Sophomore year started so fast that it felt like "Freshmen Year: Part II". Everyone in my pod freshmen year either roomed together or at least hung out. This is the year where I roomed with the infamous Shaggy. He was the nicest kid in the world but for the love of God, play some music other than Dave Matthews Band! I didn't know that there were 200 different versions of "Crash Into Me", but you better believe I heard every one of them. What I did love about him though was that he would skip classes 2 months in a row. So whenever I skipped class, I still stood an inch taller next to him.
