"The Core Team allows students involved with Campus Ministry to take a higher role in helping to decide what goes on through the Campus Ministry program here at Assumption," said Ranft. "The students who make up the Core Team are involved with many different aspects of their faith and combined they make it to be a fun atmosphere to help Assumption maintain their school motto 'until Christ be formed in you'"
There are eleven different focus areas of this group on campus. From Candlelight Prayer to Missions to the several retreats AC offers its students, Campus Ministry Core Team members plan and carry-out everything. The members of the team are from the classes of 2005 and 2006. The members include Alison Burns Class of 2005, Megan Chenaille Class of 2005, Chrissy Hanchett Class of 2006, Katelyn Henry Class of 2005, Claire Lajoie Class of 2005, Jay Laperriere Class of 2006, Heather MacMillan Class of 2006, Steve Pagios Class of 2006, Chelsy Pelletier Class of 2005, Nicole Santosuosso Class of 2005, Erin Ranft Class of 2006, and Beth Sheehan Class of 2006.
Each member is in charge of a different focus area and although the group works together as a whole, the members have their own roles to play separately from the group. The following serves as insight on a few of the important roles that students have as members of the Core Team.
Burns is in charge of the Liturgy Focus Area. Through this she seeks new ways for students to take leadership roles in the area of liturgy, such as becoming greeters, lectors, or servers. She also seeks to advertise the 7 and 10 pm masses, where she also makes announcements. Burns has also helped to put together the After Mass Social taking place once a month, that is a gathering held following the 7 p.m. mass in a Emmanuel House for fun, food, and socializing.
Chenaille is the Liturgy Representative along with Burns. In addition to announcements at masses and creating the ideas for mass advertisements, they also attend
