Senior Day concludes basketball season

The Women defeated Le Moyne 72-41 for the team's second straight win. The Lady Hounds got off to a quick start and led 41-16 at halftime. In the first half, the Lady Hounds held Le Moyne to six of 21 shooting, and to just 31% on the day. During halftime, Sophomore Nate Savary hit the SGA half court shot and won $700.00.
Leading the way for the Lady Hounds was Junior guard Kerry Millhaven who led all scorers with 18 points, and was three for three from three point range. Junior center Amanda Krawiec had a career high 12 points, while Freshman forward Charde Floyd added nine points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Kristen DiCalogero and Sophomore guard Jess Paulsen both added eight points. Overall, the Assumption defense was too much for Le Moyne to overcome, with their leading scorer mustering only nine points.
The win brought the team's record to 11-12 overall, 7-12 in the Northeast 10.
Following the Women's win, the Men faced a tightly contested game. The Hounds trailed at times by as much as 10, but were able to keep the game close at the end. Le Moyne's Matt Cooper led all scorers with a career high 31 points, despite playing much of the fourth quarter with four fouls. The score went back and forth the entire game. With seven minutes to play, Robinson was scrambling for a rebound with Cooper when both fell to the floor. Robinson was given both a foul, and a technical foul on the play.
With a just over a minute to play, a three pointer from Linnell gave the Hounds the 89-88 lead. Le Moyne's Corey Smith then hit a three of his own to give his team the 91-89 lead. Robinson was then fouled, and hit both free throws to tie the game at 91-91. Le Moyne's Cooper was then fouled, and hit two more free throws to make him 11-13 from behind foul line of the day. Bland then brought the ball up past the half court line and the Hounds called timeout with just .01 seconds left on the clock. Harrington then attempted to lob the ball in to Junior center Josh Melucci, but time expired with the score 93-91 in Le Moyne's favor.
Bland finished with a team high 23 points on the day. Robinson finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for his 15th double-double of the season. Linnell finished with 17, including five of eight from behind the arc. Freshman forward Mike Foti added nine points, while Melucci had eight points.
The loss brought the team's record to 4-20 overall, 2-17 in the Northeast 10.
