Athletics honors student-athletes
Over 100 students at Assumption juggle not only a hefty courseload, but also the commitment of being a student-athlete. On Saturday, April 6 the Assumption Community celebrated National Student-Athlete Day with a breakfast honoring 19 student-athletes who have shown success and dedication not just on the field, but in the classroom and the Community.

Softball team hopeful for playoffs
Suffering 10 losses, one tie and managing five wins since March 26, Assumption Softball was scheduled a home match up against Le Moyne yesterday. This past weekend, the Lady Hounds fell to Adelphi at home; Saturday’s double-header was marked with a 2-1 loss and 8-3 loss respectively.

Track and Field break records
On Saturday April 6, the men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to UMASS Dartmouth to compete in the Corsair Classic Track & Field Invitational. The men’s team placed 11th and the women’s team placed ninth overall. The men’s team had two record-breaking runs at the invitational.

Men's Lacrosse gets first win
On Saturday, April 13, the Assumption College Men’s Lacrosse team celebrated the dedication of its senior players and also triumphed over the Bentley University Falcons in a 7-6 victory. With this win, the Hounds continue the season with a 2-8 overall record and 2-6 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

'Boys of spring' take the field
With Mother Nature finally giving us some sun, Assumption’s boys of spring played ball in the nicest weather conditions of 2013. The Hounds faced St. Rose on April 10, pulling out a 4-3 win over the opposing Golden Knights. The Hounds have improved to 5-9 in the conference and an outstanding 4-1 in their division.

Lady Hounds look to improve record
On a highly anticipated sunny afternoon in Worcester, Mass. on Tuesday, April 9, the Assumption College Women’s Lacrosse team (8-5) took the Multi-Sport Stadium field against Le Moyne College (7-2) in search of its fourth consecutive win. “At first, I was nervous,” said first-year midfielder Kate Graydon, speaking on her pregame mindset.

Hounds drop in NE-10 Standings
The Assumption Men’s Lacrosse team’s record fell to 0-5 last week in what proved to be a tough week for the Hounds, dropping a 10-7 final at Southern New Hampshire University on March 16 and an 8-7 loss at the hands of the St. Anselm College Hawks on March 23.

Women's Basketball ends season with 22-8 record
After a hard-fought battle, Assumption Women’s Basketball team’s season officially came to an end on Friday, March 15. The Lady Hounds took on the Tigers of Holy Family University. The game was part of the NCAA Division East Region quarterfinals hosted by Bentley University at the Dana Center.

Medeiros notches her 200th career hit
March 22 marked Assumption Softball’s third match up against the Southern Connecticut Owls, ending in an 8-0 loss in New Haven. On March 17, the Hounds started the Northeast-10 season in a double header against the Owls resulting in a 5-0 loss followed by a 5-4 win over the Owls.
