Frisbee szn

It started off just a way to pass the time after school. One day in middle school, my neighbors and I, bored of our normal routine of football and wiffle ball, found a frisbee in my garage. One of my neighbors knew about this weird game called Ultimate Frisbee, so we decided to give it a try.

Well it turned out that “trying it out” turned into an entire summer of us just playing the game all day long. We had become hooked, so much that once we were in high school, one of my neighbors decided to start a varsity Ultimate Frisbee team.

I won’t lie, I was reluctant to join at first, no one really thought of it as a real sport and I had fun playing it but I didn’t know any of the formal rules or anything.

My junior year of high school though, I made the decision to finally give it a try. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I had ever made.

After I had played two years in high school, I had an inclination to try to play in college too.

That’s when I joined the Club Ultimate Frisbee team.

It was later that year that I would take over as Captain. We played one game that year against Clark, which we won 17-15 in overtime.

The next year, the 2017-18 season, it was time to really get down to business. We played a game against Becker, which we won 15-12, as well as competed in three tournaments.

This year, we took another step up as a club. We are done with the fall season now, and our record stands at a humble 2-3. We travelled to Becker where we won by a final score of 15-13, after a thrilling comeback after being down 8-4 at halftime. We also travelled to Stonehill College to compete in a tournament there, but were unable to to pick up a win against some very tough teams in the pouring rain.

Finally, we hosted Norwich University for a game this year on the turf. A game which featured high winds, and cold temperatures, both making it hard to play. We were able to scrape together a 15-6 victory though to end the season on a high note.
