The last semester

This is my last semester here at Assumption College. This is my last semester as an undergraduate. My last semester to be able to live with all my best friends. My last semester before entering the “real world.” It sounds surreal to say “last semester” because I feel as though college flew by with a blink of an eye. Just recently, my roommates and I were reminiscing on freshman, sophomore, and junior year. There is no other word to describe the feeling other than bittersweet.

I could not count the amount of times I’ve spoken to friends who have agreed that they wish they could just relive college once more, just for the mere fact of feeling the excitement of meeting new people and making new connections again.

Throughout my years here at Assumption College, I was lucky enough to make great connections with a couple of my professors. One professor who I am most appreciative of is professor Drew. Throughout all of college, professor Drew has been sort of a mentor figure for me. She inspired me to major in English Literature as well as continue my education to pursue graduates school in hope to become a professor later on in life.

Assumption College is a great school because since it is so small, it enables you to reach out to people and resources that will benefit you in the long-run. Though I must add, Assumption is also great for making friends since chances are, you will probably see a lot of familiar faces throughout the day. With that being said, I have met some of my best friends here and am forever grateful for them (you know who you are).
I wrote an article similar to this last semester, but the only difference is that I was not ready to graduate. As I am sitting here typing this article, I feel that it is safe to say I am ready tomove forward with my life and continue making more connections and friends beyond Assumption College’s campus.

Seniors, I know that these last classes are going to drag on throughout the semester. Trust me, senioritis has hit me as well. Though we have to remember to finish this semester off strong as well as have as much fun as possible. In other words, go to Leitrim’s on Thursdays and Loft on Tuesday’s (discounted drinks are always great), go get insomnia cookies at 1 am, take funny pictures with your friends, make as many memories as you can. One day, you’re going to look back and remember all the fun and crazy times you’ve had in college. Make this semester memorable.
