There has never been a better time than now to be a nerd. Weather its superheroes or sci-fi there seems to be an almost never-ending stream of content. With eight new installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) last year alone as well as new Star Wars content in the form of The Book of BobaFett on Disney+. The entertainment does not appear to be stopping anytime soon so here a few of the most anticipated movies and series coming in the next few months.

1. The Batman (3/4/22)

From director Matt Reeves the newest installment to the Batman legacy will be hitting the big screen. With a more gritty and realistic approach Robert Pattinson’s Batman will take on the criminals of Gotham city, going up against Colin Farrell as the Penguin and Paul Dano’s Riddler. The star studded cast has fans’ hopes high that this will be one of the best iterations of the Caped Crusader yet. Release date set for March 4th.

2. Moon Knight (3/30/22)

The newest series coming to Disney+ and the next chapter of the MCU follows a former U.S. Marine, struggling with dissociative identity disorder. Eventually he is granted the powers of an Egyptian moon god which he uses to rid the world of other mythical beings and monsters. Oscar Isaac is able to bring the character to life for fans even if they are not familiar with Moon Knight’s unruly nature in the comics. Release date set for March 30th.

3. Morbius (4/1/22)

The next entrant of Sony’s up and coming cinematic universe is Daniel Espinosa’s Morbius. A lesser known character, Morbius is the origin story of a scientist who inadvertently turns himself into a vampire in his efforts to cure himself of a rare blood disease. Easter eggs from all three previous Spider-Man franchises can be seen in the recent trailers so there are all kinds of crossover implications with Sony owned Marvel characters. Release date set for April 1st.

4. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (4/8/22)

Sonic the Hedgehog was one of the highest-grossing films of 2020 before pandemic lockdowns went into effect. This year, Sonic voiced by Ben Schwartz is back fighting Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik. He is not alone this time, as he returns with a furry pal of his own named Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba and Sonic must team up with a new friend Tails voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessey to stop him. Release date is set for April 8th.

5. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (5/6/22)

One of the most anticipated movies of the year for Marvel fans, the second of the Doctor Strange movies will send him into multiverse, thats origins were explained in the Disney+ show Loki. There he will have to reverse the chaos that lays beyond his reality in order to fix the damage that he has done. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange will be accompanied by Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff from the Disney+ series, WandaVision and possibly even characters from the animated Disney+ series What If?. Release date set for May 6th.
