Céad Míle Fáilte! With St. Patrick’s Day about a month away, it begs the question, is it too early to begin prepping for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations? Given my experience and opinion, it’s never too early!

Growing up in an Irish household, St. Patrick’s Day was always a big deal. There were always talks on what we should do to celebrate well before the holiday arrived.

Early prep is never a bad thing! You’ll be able to work out any flaws in your celebration plans and have a clear idea of how your plans will play out. Plus, it will guarantee that you are organized, in case any flaws or unforeseen events do occur.

By planning early, you will be able to secure availability to any parades or functions you’re planning to attend and avoid getting the bottom-of-the-barrel seats and prices.

If you plan on travelling and need to stay at a hotel or an Airbnb, you have a chance of getting better rates and availability.

When shopping for attire, decorations, and food early, this allows you to make  smarter purchases. By preparing early, you have access to a wider variety of options,  rather than the vulture scraps left a week to a few days early. You also will be able to make smarter financial decisions by comparing prices and quality.

For group gatherings, it’s best to plan early. This ensures that everyone will be available for the festivities, as well as coordinate who’s hosting and potential outings. If someone is coordinating transportation, buying tickets for events, or booking a reservation, it allows for accurate and timely compensations to be made.

Moreover, planning early for St. Patrick’s Day, or any holiday will make certain that you and your friends will have a smooth and enjoyable celebration. Sláinte!
