The Boston Red Sox have started the season 16-14 and are coming off a series split  with the Cleveland Indians. They have key contributions from nearly all their players and  especially from their two starts on the left side of the infield.

Third baseman Alex Bregman has started to season hot, hitting .319/.543/.937. The former  MVP leads the team in home runs and RBIs. He has started the season with a 1.7 WAR and  is poised to make a run as the gold glove and silver slugger third baseman of the American  League.

Trevor Story, the Red Sox franchise shortstop has had difficulty staying on the field for the  last four years. He has played just over 100 games in three seasons with the Red Sox.  However, when he is on the field, he is a big-time impact player both on the field and at the  plate. He started the season hot hitting 5 home runs in 29 games and is fourth on the team  in RBIs. He started the home opener with a bang, hitting a mammoth home run over the  monster sparking the Fenway crowd. While major league baseball is a marathon, safe to  say he is leading early in the race for all star and a potential silver slugger caliber year.

On the mound, the red sox acquired young ace, Garret Crochet. He has started 6 games  with a 1.95 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 37 innings. The 6’6” lefty had a monster spring training  and has lead the red sox to two wins including one win over the second place team  Baltimore Orioles while shutting them out in eight innings pitched.

Another big bright spot to this young sox season, is catch Carlos Narvaez. He has one error  behind the plate and .994 fielding percentage. He has had come clutch hits throughout the  season including a late game home run bringing the red sox within one with the Seattle  Mariners.

Many key returning players include Jarren Duran and Cedanne Rafaela who have proven  their worth to the team. In the series against the Cleveland Indians, Rafaela had a 5 RBI  game and Duran hit a triple down the left field line and one pitch later stole home which fell  on the anniversary of when Jacoby Ellsbury, a valuable piece of the red sox 2013 world  series team, stole home on April 26, 2010.

The red sox may not have the best record in major league baseball, however they have  many championship caliber players in ace Garret Crochet and veteran infielders Trevor  Story and Alex Bregman. In an American league without much superpower, the red sox can  make a run and get another world series trophy under owner John Henry.
