A Highlight on the Excitement of Intramural Softball

The most exciting time of the year lies within the fall at Assumption University. The leaves start changing, and the football team and other fall sports teams are back in action. There’s also the Halloween themed late nights in the pub. But where does the true heart lie? In the time for intramural softball to start back up.

Having observed some of these softball games, the excitement it brings to young college students is immense. Sure, there are other intramural sports going on, but the one everyone seems to look forward to is softball. It stands as a minor league to adult softball leagues that are made available once students graduate.

The four teams running right now seem to be in it to win it all. Chris & Friends, Team Plourde, The Elixir Pumpers, and The Unathletics show up every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to compete for the title of Intramural Champions. By playing their hearts out, diving for fly balls, and sliding into bases, all of it becomes exhilarating for spectators watching from afar or up close.

Currently, Chris & Friends lead the league with the most wins out of all four teams. The playoffs start soon and it will be all hands on deck to battle it out for the title!
