Getting ready and want to feel cute? Listen to Tate McRae! Got cheated on or need to get over a rough break up with an ugly troll? Tate is your gal! Just want to feel comfortable in your own skin? Again, McRae is the way.

Tate McRae has become a national sensation, teaching women ranging from their teenage years and beyond to tune into their inner baddie. In her new Miss Possessive World Tour, she certainly put the “ate” in Tate, as her attire was top tier and her vocals off the charts…

On Night 3 in Boston, her face was tea, her body was tea, and everything about her performance was piping hot tea… maybe even coffee because tea isn’t strong enough. McRae has a variety of different songs ranging from sad, to bad[die]. She has become a marketing genius, making cheetah print her brand colors, and slapping her 10/10 face on merch.

On Night 3, McRae wore tight and sparkly fits, and did not disappoint. She strutted around the stage like the gorgeous gal she is, and she truly tapped into her alter-ego, Tatiana. Fans also appreciated her backup dancers, especially the male dancers whose abs and muscles were their main costume (it was us, we were the fans). McRae came out with a bang, featuring her song “Miss possessive,” rocking an all white and tight fit, with her signature black sunglasses.

Flipping her luscious hair into her next songs, she wore an iconic leather black top and tight shorts. A fan favorite outfit was her purple lace bra, which she featured in, no surprise here, her song “Purple Lace Bra.” It was sparkly, it was fitted, it was everything. McRae’s outfits fit her to a tee, but fans really knew it was her lethal face card that made her look perfect.

She even featured super tall heels throughout the night, showcasing her talent to dance, sing, and  serve all at the same time. McRae’s dramatic hairflips not only added to her overall look and choreography too, but they enticed viewers, and made fans fall in love with her edge even more.

McRae wasn’t the only one whose outfits ate at Night 3, as her fans came prepared. The audience was a fest of cheetah-print-covered teenagers adorning black sparkly boots. Many fans featured extravagant transitions on their TikToks, showing off their outfits and makeup and tagging McRae. As McRae has grown in popularity, she has frequently been called “the pop star of our generation” and compared to pop icon Britney Spears, who also shared a strong background in dancing and dance-focused performances.

Just as teenagers in the early 2000s spent countless hours in their bedrooms learning the “Oops!…I Did It Again” choreography, a recent TikTok dance has circulated from McRae’s interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, in which she teaches him the “It’s ok I’m ok” choreography from the tour. Some lucky viewers even got McRae to feature or repost their transitions and lip sync TikToks! McRae’s audience was ecstatic at her fire fits, and their crazy outfits only added to the epic atmosphere that resembled the immaculate vibes of early 2000s pop!

So what do fans notice after McRae’s sassy attitude and tea outfits? Her vocals…duhh! McRae has a unique sound, both with slower, more melancholic songs and also hype, baddie tunes. Her setlist included songs from her new album, “So Close to What”, and other songs for every type of person in the audience: Heartbroken audience member? McRae played “you broke me first,” her first ever  hit. Wanted to feel hot and dance the night away? McRae performed “2 hands,” “Dear god,” and more. Getting over a hardship in a relationship? McRae featured “It’s ok I’m ok” and “exes.” Were you there with your man? McRae bumped “Miss possessive,”  the perfect anthem to keep other ladies away from the love of your life.

Go through men and relationships faster than McRae can do a shuffle ball change? McRae played “bloodonmyhands,” “Guilty Conscience,” and “No I am Not Love.” The point is, no matter what fans were feeling in Boston on Night 3, McRae had it covered. She brought the energy, excitement, and she never missed a beat. Tate McRae has been dancing her way to the top of the charts during the release of this album, as its music videos have all gone viral.

Therefore, the singer’s choreography for the “Miss Possessive World Tour” could be nothing less than perfect if it was to match up with her fan’s expectations. Throughout the show, McRae would frequently give up her mic, letting background vocals take over while she joined in dance breaks. In fact, McRae’s dancing is so intense, her shoes have flown off of her feet at multiple shows!

Back in September, at the MTV Video Music Awards, McRae’s performance left fans in awe as she showed off her splits in a pit of black sand. Similarly, the set design of her tour dropped the jaws of audiences around the world. The main stage takes advantage of the bulky structural equipment, decorating it as if it was a construction site… and she’s working it!

Throughout the show, McRae and her backup dancers swing, crawl, and dance through the beams. And during the most intimate part of the show, when McRae asks her die-hard fans to sing along with the songs she wrote in her teenage years, she performs from a circular mini-stage in the center of the crowd, uniquely connecting with her audience.

Some fans have interpreted the provocative nature of her dancing, outfits, and set design as overly sexualized. It is unclear if Tate McRae aims to assert control over her image, or if she is conforming to how the media portrays young women in entertainment. Additionally, the irony of Tate McRae being labeled as “the next Britney Spears,” branded for her “sex appeal” by the media at sixteen years old, should raise a red flag to pop fans across the country as McRae’s career progresses.

While discourse continues over McRae’s performances, our opinion is that her concert was truly a unique experience, and we would pay a boatload more money just to breathe in the same air as her again. If you are thinking of going, it will be worth every penny. And if you don’t trust us, trust Tatiana, because in Tatiana we trust.
