Assumption’s women’s lacrosse team opened the season at American International College on February 25th.
The Greyhounds maintained complete control over the field for the first half of the game, especially in the first quarter, where they shut the Yellow Jackets out 7-0. They kept this pace up for the rest of the game, ending with an astounding 16-2 win.
Their next game at Mercy University would be less successful, despite a strong first period. The Mavericks eventually took over the game with a 15-4 win.
Assumption lost again in their next game at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. The Golden Rams took control early with 3 goals in the first 9 minutes. Two players worth highlighting from these first few games are Senior Katelynn Johnston and Junior Kyle Johnston.
Katelynn accumulated 6 points in the last 3 games. Her younger sister, Kyle, has also had a successful season so far, consistently scoring multiple times in every game so far with 10 points to date.
