With the Spring season comes the start of a new season for many sports. One such sport that has taken the world by storm in recent times is Formula 1, or F1.

Taking place all over the world, each participating country hosts their own Grand Prix. For the 2025 season, a notable highlight thus far is the F1 Heineken Chinese GP.

Taking place at Shanghai International Circuit on March 23rd, this high-octane race hosted 20 racers from around the world, with 16 racers qualifying for competition.

Notably, of the four racers who were disqualified, racers Leclerc, Hamilton, and Grasly were disqualified for various “technical infringements”, as described on F1’s official results page. The rest of the racers partook in a heated 56-lap race.

The winner of the 2025 F1 Heineken Chinese GP was driver #81 Oscar Piastri, an Australian driver part of Team McLaren.

Sporting his McLaren Mercedes-Benz, Piastri achieved first place with a time of 1:30:55.026, or slightly over an hour and a half.

The runner up, fellow member of Team McLaren Lando Norris, was +9.7 seconds behind Piastri. Although they are on the same team and therefore benefit from either racer winning, the gap in between both racers are remarkable.

The victory itself is likewise notable considering Paistri’s underwhelming performance in the previous Australian GP from leading up to his pole position in Shanghai. Now, it is up to Piastri and the rest of Team McLaren to continue its success in the following worldwide GPs.

The 2025 F1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix served as a sampling for an exciting Formula 1 season to follow.

With Piastri’s and company’s quick turnaround from an underwhelming Australian GP, this F1 season is shaping up to be a memorable one full of high-speed excellence.
