Local Worcester Venues Welcome Assumption Students for November Events

As November starts, Assumption students have several local businesses and attractions to explore before winter break. Here are ten locations that offer seasonal activities and events.

Live Action Escape Room

Live Action Escape Room is an escape room experience in Worcester where teams race against the clock to solve puzzles with clues to beat the challenge. Private rooms are included for between two and 34 players with a variety of themes and levels. The immersive experience makes it suitable for a hangout or date night.  

Polar Park

Polar Park is the home to the Worcester Red Sox but also hosts other events during the year. Students can watch baseball games or attend events such as “Light The Night” in November. Polar Park is a great place to be a part of local excitement. 

The Hanover Theater Conservatory

The Hanover Theater Conservatory is a great place for those who enjoy the thrill of the performing arts. Known for its grand architecture and rich history, the theatre has brought world-class performers, Broadway tours, and community productions to Central Massachusetts. They have over 2,300 seats and a calendar full of shows that span from “Complexions Contemporary Ballet” to “The Nutcracker.”

Roots & Press

Roots & Press is a distinctive cafe and bookstore, holding a cozy reading and studying environment with curated espresso options. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including vegan, gluten-free, and seasonal fall drinks that are popular around Thanksgiving. Roots & Press provides a warm space that is helpful for both studying and social connection.

The Guitar Armory

The Guitar Armory is a small shop in Worcester that offers a selection of pre-owned guitars for players at all levels. Named after the John W. Higgins armory building on 100 Barber Avenue, visitors can try out a new instrument or demo the guitars in a quiet showroom. This November is their one-year anniversary; the shop continues to serve as a resource for musicians in the New England area.

Belan Casa de Pan

Belan Casa de Pan is a Salvadorian bakery on Main Street that serves Salvadoran pastries and classic American desserts. The menu features Salvadoran quesadillas, margarita tarts, and coffee. It is a cozy spot to have a warm pastry or coffee, offering a break from the cold autumn wind. Belan Casa de Pan was founded by a baker from El Salvador and brings a touch of tradition to the Worcester community. 

Cascades Park

Cascades Park is named for the cascading waterfall that can be seen from Cataract Street, flowing into Cook Pond. It features beautiful scenery and hiking trails lined with autumn leaves. The park connects to several other conservation areas and offers paths for walking and exploring nature. 

East Coast Fitness

East Coast Fitness is a private gym in Worcester open 24/7 with personal fitness trainers and a variety of exercise equipment. The gym has an app that provides structured coaching for those seeking a more personalized experience. It fosters a community that supports independent workouts and guided training. Students can take advantage of a special discount. 

Clayground Paint Your Own Pottery Studio

Clayground Paint Your Own Pottery Studio is a creative space for painting pottery with in-studio sessions and “Pottery to Go” options. Visitors can drop in to paint anytime during the designated hours or have group appointments for birthday parties, family gatherings, or other special events. They provide all the necessary materials, and college students receive a 10% discount. Clayground’s hands-on artistry makes it a welcoming spot for locals. 

The Ecotarium

The Ecotarium in Worcester is a science and nature museum with animal exhibits and a digital planetarium. The museum also offers volunteer opportunities, which allow visitors to engage with the indoor and outdoor exhibits while contributing to conservation efforts and education.
