Spirit Airlines has updated their dress code policy and failure to comply may result in the denied boarding or removal from your flight. Effective Jan. 22, 2025, Spirit Airlines has cracked down on what their passengers are allowed to wear.
With the new dress code policies, Spirt Airlines has also updated its behavior policies by adjusting its “Contract of Carriage,” Both policies aim to remove any attire deemed “inappropriate” or “provocative.”
According to the New York Times, Section 4.3 of the airline’s contract now states that passengers are not allowed to wear “see-through clothing; not adequately covered; exposed breasts, buttocks, or other private parts.” Along with these guidelines, passengers may not board barefoot and must refrain from wearing any clothes or body art that is deemed “lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature,” according to ABC News. To access this new dress, passengers can look under the “conduct/condition” section of their rules, which is the area that encompasses passenger behavior.
If you are flying on a Spirit plane or even on another airline, this contract is recommended to be looked at to avoid any behavior or attire that may result in the denial of your flight.
The contract also mentioned that passengers will be denied boarding or removed from the flight if they are intoxicated or using drugs, have a contagious disease such as chicken pox, refuse or inability to fasten their seatbelt during the flight, offensive odors unless caused by a disability, and overall disorderly behavior or refusal to listen to laws and or rules.
