The NFL Honors in 2024 were not surprising and across the country, the NFL fan base felt that all the winners were deserving of their award.

The big award was the Offensive Rookie of the Year award that was given to Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. He had an electrifying season filled with hail mary’s and highlight runs. Daniels led the Commanders to two playoff victories over the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers both on the road. He was spectacular and it was a consensus to give him the award.

The next big award to highlight is the Coach of the Year award, which was given to Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell. O’Connell led the Vikings to a wildcard spot and lost in the first round, however, his expected starting quarterback went down with a season-ending knee injury and renowned backup Sam Darnold was put in place. With O’Connell’s system, Darnold went on to have an MVP like season with his receivers and made O’Connell look like an offensive genius. It is as impressive a feat as ever to make Sam Darnold look like a starting quarterback, never mind an MVP candidate. Safe to say, he was the coach of the year.

The final award I would really like to highlight is the MVP award, which was presented to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Is he deserving? Absolutely. As a Patriots fan, he shows off against us twice a year and routinely performs superhuman highlights in every game he plays. He gambles on himself and is an aggressive offensive weapon.

While many quarterbacks are seen as a system and the commander of the system, Josh Allen is the commander of the offense. There was a play against the 49ers where he received a lateral from his wide receiver from a pass that Josh threw and scored a touchdown while diving for the pylon. He was given a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown on the same play.

Quarterbacks have been criticized that receivers make plays off their passes and that is the reason for a lot of their success. Allen threw the ball, made the play and scored. He is the most valuable player and there is no question about it this year.
