The Assumption men’s and women’s golf teams are gearing up for the postseason. Following multiple invitational tournaments in April for each team, the Greyhound golfers are looking to putt themselves into a deep postseason run.
The men’s golf team earned two fourth-place finishes and one second-place finish during their spring season. At the Penemen Spring Invitational, the team finished second out of eight and one under par, with three greyhounds finishing in the top 10.
Freshman Lucas Levasseur led the way with his highest finish this season at fifth, scoring three under par. Senior Jack Moy also earned his highest finish with a one-under-par score to give him an eighth-place finish. Sophomore Kyle Puchol finished right behind Levasseur in sixth place with a 73, scoring two under par.
The women’s golf team has been making some long drives, with a successful fourth-place finish at the Trinity and Hartford Invitational. The team also competed at the Hawks Invitational, where they placed third out of fourth.
At the Trinity and Hartford Invitational, sophomore Samantha Tinsley, who was a leading force for the women in the Fall, earned her best finish this season in seventh place. Senior Charlee Kennedy and freshman Julia Pace tied for 15th place.
The men’s golf team plays in the first round of the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional on Thursday, May 8, at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, PA.
