After a successful three seasons of ‘Ted Lasso’, where it was thought the show would be done forever, it has now been brought back but with a twist. Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, will be coming back once again as the head coach, but this time, instead of coaching a men’s football team in London, he will be coaching a women’s football team in Kansas City.

The exciting news broke out when filming started, as well as possible premiere dates for the highly anticipated season four. The filming for the newest season kicked off in July of 2025. Since the newest season has only just started filming this July, the release date is at the moment still unknown, but it is predicted to be released on Apple TV in mid to late 2026.

With the new season focusing on Lasso returning to America after years in the UK coaching Premier League football, he returns to America for his family while still having job opportunities. He is now back in Kansas City, and he will be coaching a women’s football team. The filming for the season will take place in Kansas City, MO, but they will also be filming in London, UK.

Although the newest season will be completely different than the past three seasons, there will still be some of the key cast there: Jason Sudeikis playing Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard. Although many of the original cast are returning to this new and improved cast, there is one actor who is confirmed not to be returning due to prior commitments, Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie Tart.

In the more recent years since the 2022 women’s Euros, women’s football has begun to rise in viewership and engagement from the fans. With the rise of women’s football, there is a demand to see more women’s football in the media, especially with the lack of representation there currently is. With the hype in the women’s football world about this upcoming season, there has been a significant number of games of the Arsenal women’s football team that Jason Sudeikis has attended to spread the word about the season to the women’s football world. With every match that he attends, there is more excitement for the new season, especially in the Arsenal women’s fanbase.
