A Study Playlist Built for Success

Now that we’re in the full swing of the school year, it’s time to curate a study playlist suited for success.

“Von Dutch”- Charli xcx

“Von Dutch” has the perfect punchy vocals and instrumentals to get you into a focused mood needed for completing your assignments. It’s also a hype up song as well, which is perfect for studying!

“Bad Habit”- Steve Lacy 

The mellow instrumentals and sultry voice of Steve Lacy is what makes “Bad Habits” a great song. Not just that, but a great study song too! The repetitive pattern of the instrumentals doesn’t require your brain to be fully engaged, which allows you to focus on your work without being distracted by the song!

“Chamber of Reflection”- Mac DeMarco

DeMarco is the master of creating hypnotic and calming instruments. “Chamber of Reflection” is a great example of this musical talent. Listening to this while studying will for sure help you stay in the zone!

“Brooklyn Baby”- Lana Del Rey

“Brooklyn Baby” is another example of a chill study song. The calming instrumentals coupled with Del Rey’s soft vocals put you in the best and calmest state for studying.

“Sunday”- The Cranberries

“Sunday” contains chill instrumentals and a catchy guitar riff that puts you in the best mood and zone for a great study session! Plus, you get to listen to Dolores O’Riordan’s stunning vocals!

“505”- Arctic Monkeys 

“505” is a great energetic study song to keep you alert while studying. A song like “505” also helps with mood and motivation, especially with the guitar riffs and Alex Turner’s smooth vocals.

“Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-Flat Major”- Dimitri Shostakovich

Perhaps I’m biased as a former cellist to include this, but Shostakovich’s “Concerto” contains the right passion and energy to invigorate and motivate the listener. There is also scientific evidence to prove that classical and orchestral music aid in better focus and reduce stress.
