Assumption has been recognized as a top university in four leading publications over the past two months. The publications rank higher education institutions each year for their excellence in academic quality.

Ranked in Money, Forbes, the Princeton Review, and U.S. News and World Report, Assumption was ranked higher in this year’s rankings and moved up in percentage-ranked categories.

President Greg Weiner informed students, faculty, and staff of the news in an email sent on Sept. 25, saying, “They [the recognition] indicate the excellence of our faculty, the strong outcomes and return on investment for our graduates, and—as a whole—the positive momentum of our University.”

Money was the first publication to recognize Assumption this year, naming the university to their annual ‘Best Colleges in America’ list on June 25. Assumption was just one of 23 institutions in a list of over 100 that received four or more stars in the publication’s ratings.

Vice President for Enrollment at Assumption, William Boffi, said of the recognition, “The monetary return on investment for our graduates is among the best in the nation. Greater still, we believe that the personal return on investment – the kind that shapes who our graduates become – is immeasurable.”

Assumption was also named to the Princeton Review’s 2026 book of the best 391 colleges in the U.S. in August.

The book compiles its list in a non-hierarchical manner, and Assumption was named on the list because of students’ praise for their support from faculty, staff, and administrators, and the passion for the work they do.

Julia Forest, a senior at Assumption studying Communication and Media, remarked on this sentiment, saying, “Assumption faculty always goes above and beyond. Every professor I’ve had is caring, thoughtful, and supportive. The best part of my day is going to office hours and visiting professors, whether I have them currently or I took their class two years ago.”

In Forbes’ highly selective ‘America’s Top Colleges’ list, Assumption was ranked at  #455 out of 500 higher education institutions.

The university was also ranked on two of their other lists: #253 in ‘Best Private Colleges’ and #164 in the Best Colleges in the Northeast.’ Weiner said of the rankings in his email, “In a higher education landscape where some institutions are struggling, we are thriving.”

In the U.S. News and World Report’s ‘Best Universities’ and ‘Best Value’ lists, Assumption was ranked higher than in previous years.

The lists, which rank universities by their region, ranked Assumption seven spots higher on the ‘Best Universities’ list and nine spots higher on the ‘Best Value’ list, both rankings being higher than their ranking last year. Assumption is among the top 15% of universities in the category on the ‘Best Value’ list.

Weiner emphasized the importance of Assumption being ranked higher on these lists in his email, saying, “…we are in the Top 15% of all universities in that category for providing value for our students.”

He added, “With or without these rankings, our work will continue as we seek to rise ever higher, strive ever further, and illuminate the power of an Assumption University education for all to see.”
