With fall starting up, there are numerous things to look forward to and experience. Despite everyone’s busy lives, there is still room to enjoy the fall! Although we all cannot fit in every activity there is to do in the fall, here are some key ones to consider:

Watch small town shows or old school comfort movies

Some common favorites are Gilmore Girls, Smallville, Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Friends, and so many more! Some common movie favorites are Little Women, Hocus Pocus, Good Will Hunting, Remember the Titans, The Harry Potter series, It’s a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, October Sky, etc.

Take plenty of walks outside

Fall weather is a great time to walk outside since it is usually not too hot and not too cold, but just breezy enough. There are many benefits: The fall nature is nice to look at, it’s a comfortable way to socialize, you get healthy exercise, and it’s a refreshing break from studies.

Cook and bake with your loved ones or try a new autumn-themed food

Some classic baking recipe recommendations are pumpkin whoopee pies, pumpkin bread, and apple cider donuts. These are also delicious meals you can make like tomato soup with grilled cheese, butternut squash mac and cheese, risotto, chili, creamy pasta dishes, etc.

Go explore and shop at a local farm

There is nothing more like fall than picking out fruits, vegetables, seasoning, and other fresh foods from the farm store. You can also visit the farm animals and of course, go apple picking. Chances are there is always an ice cream stand selling soft serve for the road. Overall, it is a consistently lively place to go for autumn.

Start journaling every once in a while

This is the peak time of year for new beginnings and a new start. It can be good to write to yourself about new feelings and old feelings you are having on top of new goals you have for yourself and habits that you wish to improve on. Self-reflection now can help as well if the wintertime possibly becomes more lonely and difficult mentally. It doesn’t have to be an overwhelming undertaking, but a fun thing that you can look back on later!

Participate in low pressure games and sports with your friends

Similar to the spring, fall is prime time to be outside. There are many enjoyable options for a collective group like spike ball, cornhole, basketball, man hunt, tennis, pool, and golf.

Whatever you choose to do this fall, remember to have a positive mindset and keep an open mind. The fall season and rest of the first semester for university students is what you make of it.
