Last month on Sept. 14, the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held. They were hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze and aired on CBS. This year, the award show took place in the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, USA.
This year, there were some winners that cleared in all their categories. Those include “The Pitt”, “The Studio”, and “Adolescence.” Across these three programs, 21 total awards were won. “The Pitt” took home five, “Adolescence” received eight, and “The Studio” won a whopping thirteen awards.
“The Pitt” won in the following categories: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Noah Wyle, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Katherine LaNasa, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Shawn Hatosy, and Outstanding Casting.
“The Studio” won for: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Seth Rogen, and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for Bryan Cranston, Outstanding Writing and Directing for a Comedy Series. Other wins include awards for Production Design, Casting, Cinematography, Contemporary Costumes, Picture Editing, Music Supervision, and Sound Editing and Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour).
“Adolescence” won its awards for: Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Erin Doherty, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Stepehn Graham, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series for Owen Cooper, Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Philip Barantini, Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for Jack Thorne,
The rest of the categories were won by other movies and tv shows. For Outstanding Talk Series, the nominees were “The Daily Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The winner of this category was “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
The nominees for Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie were Cristin Milioti for “The Penguin”, Cate Blanchett for “Disclaimer”, Rashida Jones for “Black Mirror”, and Michelle Williams for “Dying for Sex.” Cristin Milioti took it home for this category.
“The Amazing Race”, “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, “Survivor”, “Top Chef”, and “The Traitors” were the nominees for Outstanding Reality Competition. The winner of this category was “The Traitors.”
The nominees for Lead Actress in a Drama Series were Kathy Bates for “Matlock”, Sharon Horgan for “Bad Sisters”, Britt Lower for “Severance”, Bella Ramsey for “The Last of Us”, and Keri Russell for “The Diplomat”. Britt Lower won the category.
For Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, the nominees were Jean Smart for “Hacks”, Uzo Aduba for “The Residence”, Kristen Bell for “Nobody Wants This”, Ayo Edebiri for “The Bear”, and Quinta Brunson for “Abbott Elementary”. The winner of this category was Jean Smart.
The nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series were Ike Barinholtz for “The Studio”, Colman Domingo for “The Four Seasons”, Harrison Ford for “Shrinking”, Jeff Hiller for “Somebody Somewhere”, Ebon Moss-Bachrach for “The Bear”, Michael Urie for “Shrinking”, and Bowen Yang for “Saturday Night Live”. Jeff Hiller won this category.
Zach Cherry for “Severance”, Walton Goggins for “The White Lotus”, Jason Isaacs for “The White Lotus”, James Marsden for “Paradise”, Sam Rockwell for “The White Lotus”, Tramell Tillman for “Severance”, and John Turturro for “Severance” were the nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Tramell Tillman was the winner of this category.
The nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series were Liza Colón-Zayas for “The Bear”, Hannah Einbinder for “Hacks”, Kathryn Hahn for “The Studio”, Janelle James for “Abbott Elementary”, Catherine O’Hara for “The Studio”, Sheryl Lee Ralph for “Abbott Elementary”, and Jessica Williams for “Shrinking”. Hannah Einbinder won this category.
