Ugo Ogbonnanze, affectionately known as “Juiceman,” has become a familiar face on campus, not just for his ever-present smile and unmatched energy, but for the impact he’s made behind the scenes. As a student leader, team manager, and community builder, Ugo has left a legacy of enthusiasm, service, and heart.

Whether managing the sidelines of the football and men’s basketball teams or helping with women’s field hockey, Ugo has been the spark that keeps teams motivated. His “juice” isn’t just energy; it’s about passion, encouragement, and a deep love for the people around him. His leadership philosophy? It’s simple: “It’s not about me.”

On campus, Ugo also served as the Public Outreach Liaison for the Black Student Union, helping plan events like the Sneaker Ball and promoting inclusion and celebration of culture. As an Orientation Leader, he helped welcome new students and ensure they felt supported just as he had once needed when first arriving.

It wasn’t always easy. At one point, Ugo considered transferring. But choosing to stay became a defining moment. “I had to believe in myself, even when I didn’t feel like I fit in,” he says. That choice paid off, not only in personal growth but in the many lives he’s touched since.

Looking ahead, Ugo plans to pursue a career in sports broadcasting or professional team management roles that blend his charisma, communication skills, and genuine care for athletes and teams.

Ugo now has two rings from football and basketball, which is a testament to his managerial skills and the energy he brings to the sidelines. Thank you, Ugo, for all you have done.

Advice for underclassmen: “Stick with it, even when it gets tough. Trust your why, stay humble, and never forget the people who helped you get here.”

Congratulations, Ugo,  and thank you for reminding us all what leadership, loyalty, and heart really look like.
