Staff Highlight: Colin Lawrence

Assistant director of campus recreation, certified personal trainer, alumni class of 2024, and most importantly, intramural champion. Colin Lawrence does it all and deserves to be highlighted as the hardworking faculty staff member he is.

Lawrence attended Assumption after graduating from Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, Massachusetts. He majored in health sciences as well as getting certified as a personal trainer while studying undergrad.

After graduating from Assumption in 2024, Lawrence returned to campus to become the next Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, following in his mentor’s steps, John Ledoux’ 20.

Lawrence’s contribution to the Assumption fitness program allowed campus recreation to create an entirely new department. Assumption fitness has grown into a major part of campus rec with four different fitness classes.

Lawrence specifically runs core camp on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.  Intramurals are a major part of Lawrence’s job. He has revamped the program with additions such as Vitilla and a beach volleyball tournament.

Outside of Assumption, Lawrence fathers a dog named Archie, who took campus by storm in February of last year. In all Lawrence does, he never fails to show passion for each and every task he takes on.

Whether rooting for the Mets in the playoffs last year, or when the Jets play the Patriots, he puts all his heart and effort into his work, employees, and personal life.
