Dear Syd,
With the end of the semester approaching quickly, I feel like I’m losing motivation to stay on top of my work, and I let everything pile up until Sunday night. Then I just feel really stressed out and nervous for the week ahead. What should I do?

Dearest Reader,
It sounds like you have a good case of “Sunday Scaries!” I know this feeling well, so you’ve come to the right place. Here are a few things that will help limit that weekly stress: Write down everything that needs to be done for the week.
I like to write out a weekly schedule because that way, I can see what I have due each day and can plan accordingly. Try to get things done for the next week by Thursday night. That way, you can enjoy your weekend and have far less to do on Sunday.
If your Thursday is hectic and you have a lot to get done for Friday, then I recommend sculpting out little bits of time each day of the weekend to get things done, maybe an assignment per day if that works for you.
I know it’s easier said than done, but don’t procrastinate; that’s the reason you’re dreading the week, because you know you have so much to do.
Another thing I like to do every Sunday night to cure my “Sunday Scaries” is to get all my stuff done before dinner time.
This way, I am able to eat dinner, take a shower, watch some TV, and chat with my roommates before bed. This is a great way to make sure you stay grounded and collect yourself before the week ahead.
As always, take care of yourself and give yourself some grace,
~Syd<3
