I am thankful for so many things, including the clubs I’m a part of, my health, friends, and family; especially my mom, who does so much for me!

But in relation to Assumption, I am incredibly thankful for every professor I’ve had and have gotten to know over these last few years.

I have been thankful for Professor Norris since the first time I’ve met him. He was so interested in my first day of class fun fact, which was that I love old Hollywood movies, and we’ve been talking about movies ever since! Professor Norris is also an awesome professor! He truly cares about his students and the subject that he teaches.

I do not consider myself as a “science student,” but I loved the course: Matters and Mysteries of the Brain with Professor Lemons! She’s such an amazing professor that she can take something so complicated, such as neuroscience and biology, and make it very understandable and enjoyable to learn for all students. Professor Lemons is beyond caring and consistently puts her students first. I always look forward to visiting her in Testa!

Initially, I was very nervous to take a foreign language class, but once I got to know Professor Bonanno, I loved taking Italian! He is hilarious and makes learning a language so much fun! I appreciate how theatrical and passionate Professor Bonanno is in the classroom. It is very clear that he loves to teach and build relationships with his students. Because of him, I will always be grateful that I took Italian.

I’m so glad that I’ve known Professor Monroe since my freshman year because he is so supportive, understanding, and kind. I greatly enjoyed working alongside him through Logos last year, and I am so thankful that he gave me the opportunity to be a student mentor. Professor Monroe does so much for his students. I appreciate how he places a lot of value on  building community and friendship in the classroom.

I am so thankful for Professor Burke and Laurie Palumbo! On top of helping out with so many events on campus, Professor Burke and Laurie dedicate so much time to helping their students. They always go the extra mile! They are hilarious and make Video Production a unique, fun and great learning experience! Professor Burke and Laurie get to know their students so well, and I am forever appreciative of them.

Unfortunately, I cannot possibly go through everyone I am thankful for in the English Department in just one article. If I did, this piece would take up three pages of the Provoc! Whether I’ve had them for class or have met them just a few times, every English professor is so thoughtful, generous, and kind. I’m extremely lucky to say that I’ve gotten to know this department so well. They have all greatly contributed to my life and education.

All in all, I’m thankful to have so many great professors on campus, and this wasn’t all of them! I learn so much from my professors, and I can always rely on them for guidance, or even just to have a quick chat. They’re the ones that make going to Assumption worthwhile every day. These relationships mean so much to me!
